New Year’s Eve! Hard to believe 2009 is coming to an end. As you get ready to close out this year, I encourage you to think about this quote:
"Your passion is waiting for your courage to catch up." ~ Marilyn Greist

Best wishes in the New Year!
Sometimes we need to be reminded that life isn’t all about doing … doing … doing. It’s important to just “be.” Enjoy the journey! Have fun! Take risks! Be the person you want to be!
As you prepare for 2010, ask yourself: Who is the person I really want to be? What is the purpose and mission statement for my life? What are the traits in me that I would like to cultivate? What are the habits I would rather leave behind? How can I commit to being that person?

I get these great messages from tut.com once a week. I especially liked this one:
"The folks who keep doing little things, expecting BIG results, especially when circumstances seem to indicate that tomorrow will pretty much be exactly the same as yesterday, no matter what they do today. These are the world's movers and shakers."
--What can you do this week to be a mover and shaker in your world; expecting great results from the effort you put forth?
"Most of our obstacles would melt away if, instead of cowering before them, we should make up our minds to walk boldly through them." ~Orison Swett Marden

This is a fabulous, inspirational quote my client Tara used on her Vision Board:
"Years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the tradewinds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." ~Author unknown

Here's to having a career you love,
I came across a favorite quote of mine again recently:
“I learned from [my mother] that…you learn as much from your failure as your success. You’ve got one chance in life. This is it. It’s not a prelude.”
~Cecile Richards
Take some quality time this week to think about this quote what you want to do with your life. What are you going to do to make the most out of your one chance in life?

A quote that I really like and remind my career coaching clients of is:
"When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no for an answer."
Yes! I love this quote, because I so strongly believe in following your passion, plus - I don't like taking no for an answer. This is something I got from my dad and it comes in very handy sometimes, and can get me into trouble sometimes too (grin)...but I digress.
When it comes to your career, do you take no for an answer?
Do you go to work every day doing something you love? Are you passionate about your career?
Of course we all have "off" days but shouldn't you have a career you LOVE?
If you don't love going to work every day, what's getting in your way of having a career you love and are passionate about?
Take a stand and make a decision to not take no for an answer when it comes to something you love. If you need help identifying what that is, or making it happen, contact me. That's what I'm here for.

Happy Monday! I really like this quote for this week because we can always learn from our challenges.
"Life's challenges are not supposed to paralyze you, they're supposed to help you discover who you are." Bernice Johnson Reagon
Ask yourself these questions this week:
* What have you been struggling with lately?
* What have you learned about yourself as a result?
If your challenge is feeling lost without direction, if you're having trouble finding a career you truly enjoy, or you're not sure what the next step is for you in your life, take a step towards taking charge of your life by contacting me to set up a complimentary consultation. This is what I do best.
Have a great week!
I found this quote in one of those tiny books that’s full of inspirational quotes. I liked it so made a note of it but I don’t know who said it.
“Believe in yourself, someone has to make the first move."
You might as well believe in yourself right? It starts with you. I know many people struggle with this to a certain extent; whether it’s believing they can do something that involves stepping outside their comfort zone, believing they can successfully make a career transition or something else.
Do you believe in yourself? Do others believe in you more than you do? If you don’t believe in yourself as much as you’d like to or need to, what can you do this week to start changing that?
For help with building your confidence and believing in yourself to make a career transition or some other life change, contact me for a complimentary consultation.
Happy Monday
Happy Monday!
This week take some time to think about what obstacles get in your way of achieving your goals. I know I have plenty of my own. The first step is awareness... You can't work on something if you're not aware of it in the first place.
"Most of our obstacles would melt away if, instead of cowering before them, we should make up our minds to walk boldly through them." ~Orison Swett Marden
After identifying your obstacles, you need tools to overcoming blocks and obstacles. I like to use EFT. EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Technique and involves ‘tapping’ techniques that allow you to get rid of negative emotions in your body. These emotions are the underlying cause of imbalance and blockages in your body’s energy system and can keep you from moving forward in your life and career.
Make a list this week of the obstacles that are getting in your way! Have a great week!
