I came across this inspiring video in December on the importance of setting your goals and following your dreams. I recently also shared it with some of my clients. They found it very inspiring and were able to focus on “Dreaming Big” more after watching it. I hope it can help you dream big as well:

Have a great weekend!
This video link was sent to me recently by a coaching colleague. With everything going on – fears about the economy, bank bail outs etc – it can be easy to fall into negative thinking. Watch this video [hyperlink to for inspiration and a reminder to stay positive, upbeat and focused. It's FAB!
"Most people don't know there are angels whose only job is to make sure you don't get too comfortable and fall asleep and miss your life."
This quote is from a card sent to me by one of my career coaching clients. She sent it because she felt that I kept her from ‘falling asleep and missing her life.’
What a perfect quote for me - this is exactly what I try to do with all my clients - make sure they ‘stay awake’ and not get too comfortable in their life.
In fact, one of my mantras is that if you want to create a full, balanced, and vibrant life, you must stay alert and be prepared to act when opportunities come your way. This is the only way you’re going to create the life you want.
If you feel like you may be ‘falling asleep and missing your life,’ contact me. I’m here to keep you awake!
Happy Monday!
Today I have some food for thought for you this week...
What would you do if you knew you couldn’t fail?
I love to ask this question during my workshops & presentations because it always brings up some great answers. People’s faces light up and the energy in the room just pops! One time when I asked this question in a teleclass, a man said “I’d date a supermodel.” I love his honesty!
Here’s what I would do: Call Oprah and tell her I need to be on her show! Or I’d audition to be a backup dancer in Tina Turner’s band when she goes on tour again (I love to dance).
Have you ever thought about what you would do if you simply believed you could? Why not make a list right now? Take away the prospect of failure and let your imagination run wild! Then set a time to do each thing on your list because, in reality, the only thing that’s stopping you is your mind and the fear of failure. So forget the failure and act now.
Have a great week!
Suppose you were laid off from your job. Now it's obvious you did not create the weak economy leading to that event. BUT – you ARE in total control of how you respond to that event. Here's how that works: Suppose you get depressed and just give up. Your response would obviously create a negative reality in your life.
But what if you instead respond by "taking the tiger by the tail" and start a new business on the web, or become a consultant in your field of specialization. You have then created an entirely different reality in response to the exact same event.
Here’s another example: You’re unhappy in your job and on top of that your boss is being a jerk. You realize it’s time to make a change and you’d really like to tell your boss to go pound sand. Again, you can’t control how your boss behaves but you can choose your response and what you do with the energy you’ve built up about his behavior. Turn your frustration into a motivator to start your search for your ideal career. When you find yourself focused on your boss, consciously shift your focus to where you want to go instead. You’ll create a whole new reality for yourself that will allow you to move forward, instead of remaining stuck where you are.
Life doesn't just ‘happen' to us. It's our responses to life that create our personal reality! Think about this for a moment. You really ARE in charge of creating your own life ... So take the reins with your career and contact me for help – that’s what I’m here for.
I receive weekly messages from the universe, from tut.com and I love them!
This is one of my favorite messages:
"It's not the dazzling voice that makes a singer, Hallie. Nor clever stories that make a writer. And it's not piles of money that make a tycoon.
It's having a dream and wanting to live it so greatly, that one would rather move with it, and "fail," than succeed in another realm.
You so have what it takes -
The Universe"
What do you need to do in 2009 to live into your dream? If you've been hiding out or playing small, this is your call to something greater. Go for it! Life's too short to settle for less than a career and life you love.
Have a very Happy New Year!
It's hard to believe it's the holiday time again...this last year has flown by so fast. Here's a peak at our holiday card this year - yep it's focused on Vaughn :)

The holidays are a great time to visit with family and friends, and it’s also a time to reflect on what you’ve accomplished this year.
Celebrate what you are grateful for and prepare to make 2009 a fabulous year full of everything you want and desire.
Sending warm wishes for you and your family and hoping all the best for you in 2009!
Happy Monday! I hope you had a great Thanksgiving! This week's food for thought is: Who Controls Your Future - You or the Economy?
I had 2 speaking engagements recently and the hot topic of course is the economy and what it means for your career search. Here's a question I came across recently from The Pathfinder: "Are you going to design your future, or is your past going to keep doing it for you?" GREAT question, what's your response?
In the same line of thinking "Are you going to let the current economy stand in the way of identifying your ideal career?" You know the right answer...
Remember, you can't always control external circumstances but you can control your reaction to them. You get to choose - Are you going to let past fears, beliefs or negative thoughts decide your future?
Here's a new perspective for you on this tougher economy and what it means for your job search: You can see this as an obstacle that will keep you stuck, or an opportunity to take the time to identify your ideal job. If you've lost your job and have no other income, of course, find another job/source of income right away. You have to pay your bills; that goes without saying. But you can also see losing your job or the tougher economy as a chance to assess where you are in your career path and identify what you are passionate about. There's nothing like tougher times to help us focus on what's really important.
Take a stand for your future. Get in touch with me if you're ready to blast off.
Here's to having a career you love!
